Literature Text

Have you ever heard
A heart break?
It’ll send shivers
Up and then back
Down your spine,
Every heart is different,
But the pain
All sounds the same,
Whether it’s a loud
Ripping sound
Accompanied by
A shout or a sob
With tears flowing
Freely down the
Cheeks or through
The hands covering
The gaping mouth,
Or if it’s as quiet as
Scissors slicing
Through a sheet
Of construction paper
With a single tear
Hanging on the
Tip of the chin
Waiting to be joined
By others that
Will come later
In privacy,
If you’ve never
Heard a heart break,
I would caution
You to be careful,
Nothing in the world
Hurts, more that hearing
Your own heart break
All heartbreaks are different, and each heart sounds different, but when you hear it, you know that it's heartbreak.
