Sounds of Heartbreak

Have you ever heard
A heart break?
It’ll send shivers
Up and then back
Down your spine,
Every heart is different,
But the pain
All sounds the same,
Whether it’s a loud
Ripping sound
Accompanied by
A shout or a sob
With tears flowing
Freely down the
Cheeks or through
The hands covering
The gaping mouth,
Or if it’s as quiet as
Scissors slicing
Through a sheet
Of construction paper
With a single tear
Hanging on the
Tip of the chin
Waiting to be joined
By others that
Will come later
In privacy,
If you’ve never
Heard a heart break,
I would caution
You to be careful,
Nothing in the world
Hurts, more that hearing
Your own heart break
